# Connect Jira & MS Planner

In this step, you connect the accounts needed for syncing.

### Jira Connection

* **When required**:
  * **Automated syncs** → Jira OAuth is required for offline access
  * **One-time syncs** → Jira connection is not required
* **How to connect**:
  1. Click **Open Auth Page**
  2. Approve the requested access
  3. Return to the app and click **Retry Connection**
* Once connected, you’ll see a green check mark ✅

### Microsoft Planner Connection

* **Always required** (for both one-time and automated syncs)
* **How to connect**:
  1. Click **Open Auth Page**
  2. Approve the requested access
  3. Return to the app and click **Retry Connection**
* Once connected, you’ll see:
  * A green check mark ✅
  * The Microsoft account email (also called *principal name*)
  * A **Disconnect** option, in case you want to switch accounts

#### Admin Approval

If you’re not a Microsoft 365 admin, you may need approval:

* Click **Copy Admin Approval Link** and share it with your admin
* Once approved (a one-time org-wide action), everyone in your org can use the app

#### Customize Connection

Use **Customize** if:

* You need to log in with a **specific tenant domain** (e.g., `example.onmicrosoft.com`)
* This is most often needed when you are a **guest in another tenant**

#### ⚠️ Important: Global Connection

The Microsoft Planner connection is **global for the app**, not per sync.

* If you reconnect with a different Microsoft account (with different plans), **existing automated syncs tied to the old account will stop working**.
* Make sure to connect with the correct account before creating recurring syncs.
